As a mom of two little ladies we sweat glitter, we leave a little sparkle wherever we go and all those other cheesy but totally cute clichés. So of course it was only fitting to throw my five year old a unicorn themed birthday party. Confession, I mean my girls totally love unicorns and all but sometimes I wonder who loves them more, them or me? So of course, I had the time of my life perfecting all the tiny details and making this a glitter filled bag of rainbows.
I knew I wanted color-- a lot of color--because, unicorns, duh. I knew I could bring in a lot of color with the tissue garland and create the perfect back drop for the desserts. I found the tissue garland at Party City, they have every color you can imagine and are so easy to use to create a statement.
All my unicorn dreams were answered when I found these balloons at Land of Nod (link below). To. die. for. They were easy to assemble and lasted days past the party, even withstood my two sweet angels bopping each other on the head...repeatedly. One thing I am not is a baker...or a cook. So I always have to enlist help in this category but how cute are these "a unicorn just threw up all over the rice crispy treat" treats? (ha) The chocolate covered pretzel rods are an easy thing too if you are a non-baker like me, hard to mess those up, although I probably still would!
Land of Nod really made this party simple and obnoxiously adorable. The balloons, the paperware, the favor bags, the wands, the hats...I mean can I just do it again next year? Please. The favor bags were filled with unicorn horns, stickers, unicorn bracelets, rainbow suckers, and lip gloss! I was feeling brave and gave the kids a stick to bust open the piñata, they loved it!
