DISNEY DO'S: THE FRIDAY FAVORITES OF DISNEYLAND
Top of my list for future dating advice to the girls, date someone you see yourself walking down Main Street of Disneyland with. No, but really, when people ask us how we do Disneyland so much...just take a look at those faces. The excitement, the magic, the sense of wonder and joy, the memories it creates, those things far exceed the long lines, peculiar smells, and overpriced everything. So yes, Disneyland, you can continue to take our retirement savings because we can't quit you, you are too good. I've rounded up a list of Disney Do's, you know, kind of like the Friday Favorites of Disneyland. These are the five things I can't leave the park without doing, buying, visiting or eating.
So, friends, "here you leave today, and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy."
1. It's A Small World Wall: Say it with me, PHOTO OP. Come on, admit it, most of you, like myself, are looking for that perfect picture spot. The one you can throw up the peace sign at, or put on your Minnie Ears and get that perfect boomerang (when do we get too old for those things anyway?). This. is. your. spot. Go ahead, just throw your kids in front of it and have them do it for you, live vicariously. This is one of the only spots you can get a picture with nobody in the background at Disneyland and it actually has it's own Instagram page. Need I say more? Located across from the ride in all its blue and white glory.
2. Engraveable Ears: Step aside Minnie ear hats, the new kid is in town. How cute are these? The engraving can't be done on any set of ears so make sure you pick up the right pair. They can be found at the Mad Hatter in Disneyland, World of Disney in Downtown Disney, and Five and Dime in Disney California Adventure. We've got ears, say cheers!
3. Jolly Holiday Bakery Café: One of my favorite parts of Disneyland is the food, obviously. And you know sometimes I need to cancel out all the churros, ice-cream cones, and pineapple dole whips with a salad, that works right? Jolly Holiday has the best grilled chicken salad and it's so nice to have a healthy choice to eat in the parks. The best part is I don't feel guilty when I eat three macaroons after because I ate salad first, duh.
4. Disney Swag: To not wear something Disney to Disneyland is like not wearing red, white and blue on the 4th of July. Un-Disney-an. Totally kidding. But, they are making it a whole lot easier to do with the creative and cute shirts they are thinking up these days. My favorite shops for my Disney shirts are Main Street Magical Apparel, and Liberty Square Shop. Much to my surprise, the stores in the park have stepped up their game and they are bringing the goods! On our last trip I snagged the "I Live in Fantasyland" shirt on Main Street. My husband tells me this on the reg, so I had to have it right?
5. Mad Tea Party & King Arthur Carousel: Maximum 15 minute wait time, with a three and a five year old, need I say more? 15 minutes is exaggerating, it's more like 5, but 15 on super busy park days (who am I kidding, that is like every day now). But guys, look at these smiles. We could ride these two attractions over and over, all day long, and they would leave the park fulfilled and I still get to keep my sanity, win-win.
Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.
XOXO Friends!
