LET'S TALK ABOUT L O V E
Time for a fun fact: I don't like the month of January. I've packed up Christmas so my house feels cold and bare, it is cold outside and often gloomy, and every day I spend a good amount of time convincing myself to get active because swimsuit season is just around the corner and that is downright scary. So to forget about the dreary days, and give myself a good reason to skip the gym...again, I throw myself into an oblivion of red and pink love filled everything. Aka: Valentines Day. And I sit there in my glory for six weeks, devouring See's chocolate hearts with my eyes glued to "The Bachelor" because nothing says LOVE like dating 25 women over the course of 6 weeks and picking one to marry at the end. NOTHING. But hey, I don't miss an episode and six months after every season ends and the couple announces their break up, there I am, back to my See's chocolate trying to drown out my complete shock and utter sadness. Okay, just kidding, but I'm not gonna lie, sometimes, often times, I actually waste hours discussing the break ups with my sister and friends, dissecting what could have went wrong. Welp, after saying that out loud, I am now beginning to understand why I'm sent to voicemail the day the breakup is announced to the public. In all seriousness, I love Valentine's Day and I get so excited, a little too excited, to plan out the Valentine's for Giada's classmates and dance friends. I am known to be wrapping Chritmas presents until 3 in the morning on Christmas Eve, but Valentines, done January 24th! Good news for you, I'm sharing my ideas with you and maybe it will motivate your inner cupid.
Teacher Gift: I love pink, so naturally I went with a "tickled pink" theme and rounded up a bunch of pink items. The ideas for pink are endless but I included the pink Volcano candle (my favorite candle EVER) Candle, a Starbucks tumbler with hearts, a pink shade of nail polish, Trident bubble gum, pink sanitizers, pink tic-tacs, EOS chapstick in pink, and pink wrapped candy. I have been looking for a reason to buy this pink basket and was so excited it fit my theme! Basket
Class and Dance Class Valentines: I chose to mix it up because I loved all three of these valentines! These are so easy and cheap but add a fun custom touch! I printed out the valentines on cardstock and then made a trip to Target and the Dollar Tree to scoop up mini bubble wands, stamps and ring pops. Takes a little prep time but so simple and they turn out so cute! I also bought dollar tree gemstone rings to use instead of the ring pop in some. You will also need washi tape, and bakers twine to tie up and attach. So many cute, free printable downloads if you search pinterest!
Bestie Bags: We wanted to do something special for the girls best friends, just a little something to say Happy Valentine's Day, so we picked out our favorites in the Target Valentine's day section (pictured above). They have adorable treat bags to put it all in (I added some pink shred at the bottom) and again used the bakers twine to tie it all up. We will hand deliver on valentines day to all of their gal pals!
We also firmly believe in all pink everything the whole month of January and February, and we rock those heart sunnies every time we see the sun. So yes, I am fully bought into the commercially made up holiday, and I ain't mad about it. Tell me, are you a give me all the pink and red, or a I don't need one day to celebrate love, person?
Xoxo friends!
